1. SUBJECT
Authorize purchase of Winchester Law Enforcement Ammunition from Dooley Enterprises, Inc. as a sole source vendor.
2. SUMMARY
The Police Department purchases Winchester Law Enforcement Ammunition to supply officers with ammunition for department-issued firearms. This purchase allows for the continuation of ammunition supplies for Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve the sole source purchase of ammunition from Dooley Enterprises, Inc. for $88,000.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total expenditure for this purchase is $88,000 and will be funded through General Fund (100).

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The Police Department currently uses Winchester Law Enforcement Ammunition during training and field operations to maintain proficiency with firearms. Staff has researched available competitive options and certifies the required ammunition is distributed by only one vendor. Dooley Enterprises, Inc. (Dooley’s)of Anaheim, California, is the only authorized California distributor for this brand. The proximity of Dooley’swith the department allows for purchases in small quantities and allows for product pick-up on an as-need basis. The Council has previously authorized Dooley’s as a sole source vendor and this sole source specification is a continuation of that policy.
The Police Department is requesting the continuation of Winchester Law Enforcement Ammunition supplies during Fiscal Year 2022-2023 from sole source vendor, Dooley’s, for a total amount of $88,000.
