In addition, four small form-factor pluggable (SFP+) connectors for fiber optic connectivity to the new storage area network are needed to take advantage of upgraded speeds. Staff estimates the total amount required to cover these and other related expenditures is $16,000.
As the IT department continues recruiting efforts for the open Network/Security Analyst position, Sidepath, Inc. network engineers have been assisting with network support on an ad-hoc basis over the last several months. The open purchase order that was approved by Council in July, 2021 has been depleted and the IT Department is requesting an additional $40,000 for this support and that City Council authorize staff to continue to utilize Sidepath for these services for the remainder of the fiscal year.
