1. SUBJECT
Authorize purchase of Police Department uniforms and duty gear from Galls, LLC.
2. SUMMARY
Purchase of uniforms and duty gear from Galls, LLC through a Cooperative Purchasing Agreement, Master Agreement No. 106-495220. This purchase allows for the continuation of uniforms and duty gear for Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve the purchase of Police Department uniforms and duty gear from Galls, LLC for $70,000.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total expenditure for this purchase is $70,000 and will be funded through General Fund (100).

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
Police employees are required to wear a uniform to be identified as a law enforcement authority in society and a source of assistance in an emergency, crisis, or other time of need. New officers and office staff are initially issued two types of uniforms for wear. Worn or damaged items are replaced on an annual or as need basis. Specialized units such as Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Motor Officers, K9, and Bicycle Patrol are issued different uniforms specific to their unit.
The Orange Police Department currently purchases uniforms and duty gear from Galls, LLC (Galls).
Galls is headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky and currently maintains a retail location within close proximity to the Orange Police Department which minimizes personnel driving time for pickups and scheduled fittings. As the largest distributor of uniforms and equipment to public safety personnel, Galls offers an extensive selection of products and brands, competitive pricing, convenient online ordering, and alteration services to meet the department’sneeds. The most cost-effective purchase price could be obtained through a Cooperative Purchasing Agreement, Master Agreement No. 106- 495220 entered into by the City of Anaheim.
