6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The subject storm drain easement was dedicated to the City and recorded on September 29, 1988.
The easement is 10-foot wide and approximately 128 feet long. With the proposed expansion of the new Ronald McDonald House project, the existing City-owned storm drain and easement necessitates relocation to the south of the parcel. The developer of the Ronald McDonald House has requested the City to quitclaim the easement back to the property owner. The existing storm drain will be realigned along a new dedicated storm drain easement.
Staff recommends the City Council approve the quitclaim of the existing storm drain easement to the property owner and authorize the Mayor to sign the quitclaim deed.
