6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
Willdan Engineering was retained to assist the Public Works Building & Safety Services while several positions needed to be filled, assisted with several high-profile projects needing additional inspection services beyond the capacity of our in-house staff, as well as assisted with maintaining inspection service levels. This amendment will help the City’seffort in reducing any inspection backlog and will assist in maintaining consistency and flexibility in our inspection operations.

The services for which we are requesting to use CASP (140) funds involved commercial and multi- family development accessibility compliance. The purpose of the CASP (140) funds is to increase disability access and compliance with construction related accessibility requirements to businesses and facilities.
