Laurie Marine grew up in Orange County and settled in Orange Park Acres, where she became active in the Orange community, often attending City Council and Planning Commission meetings.
Ms. Marine was an advocate for many local non-profits, including the Orange Public Library. She was a voracious reader with subscriptions to many newspapers, magazines, and publications. This $10,000 donation from the Laurie Marine Living Trust will fund books, eBooks, and eAudiobooks for children, teens, and adults at the 3 Library locations. The Orange Public Library will memorialize Laurie Marine’s donation with bookplates where appropriate.
Donations from miscellaneous Library patrons will help fund the installation of an OPL Comic Convention decal inside the Orange Public Library & History Center to attract the public to its Graphic Novel Collection in Adult Fiction.
The Orange Public Library Foundation has generously donated funds toward the purchase of a banner advertising the OPL Comic Convention. The Library will publicize the Foundation’s programming support on its OPL Comic Convention marketing.
