1. SUBJECT
Introduction and First Reading of Ordinance No. 05-22 updating the duties of City Treasurer as outlined in the Orange Municipal Code.
2. SUMMARY
Staff recently discovered that the duties of the City Treasurer, as stated in the Orange Municipal Code (OMC), had not been updated to reflect the recently created Investment and Audit Committee.
This Ordinance will update the language of the OMC accordingly.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Introduce and conduct First Reading of Ordinance No. 05-22. An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Orange amending Section 2.26.010.A of the Orange Municipal Code regarding the duties of the City Treasurer.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
In April 2022, the City Council created the Investment and Audit Committee, which merged the functions of the Investment Advisory and Audit committees. Staff recently discovered that the duties of the City Treasurer, as stated in the OMC, still referred to Treasurer’sduty as Chairperson of the now-defunct Investment Advisory Committee. The proposed Ordinance will update the City Treasurer’s duties to include being the Chairperson of the new Investment and Audit Committee.
