6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The Chapman Avenue and Yorba Street Sidewalk Repair Project will repair a portion of sidewalk, street pavement, curb and gutter along Chapman Avenue near the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Yorba Street. This area has been requiring a continuous maintenance as it was built on the old Yorba Landfill that is still settling. In 2020, the similar repair was completed in this area. Due to the settlement of the landfill, the sidewalk, curb and gutter have been damaged and created a low point on Chapman Avenue causing the localized flooding during the rainy season and it has become a safety concern to the public.

This project was advertised as an informal bid on May 19, 2022. The bid solicitation was advertised City of Orange Printed on 7/7/2022Page 1 of 2
