1. SUBJECT
Authorize purchase of security platform equipment and services from Siemens Industry, Inc. for Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
2. SUMMARY
The City purchases security platform (Genetec) equipment from Siemens every year. The City Council approved an agreement with Siemens through a competitive process on January 12, 2021 with subsequent additional projects and maintenance agreements for security platform equipment and services into this current fiscal year. Siemens is currently the single source incumbent provider of security platform services for the City.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve the purchase of security platform equipment and services from Siemens Industry, Inc. for $30,000 for Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total expenditure for this purchase is $30,000 and will be funded through the Physical Security Platform Replacements project (20456) in the Computer Replacement Fund (790).

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The City’ssecurity platform exceeds 300 cameras and is actively folding in 135 access control doors.
Throughout the year, select department needs are requested for various camera improvements and other equipment and services. These items include security cameras, door access control equipment, and other security platform licensing, infrastructure, and services.
To be responsive to Department requests and minimize the volume of small cost requests to the City Council, staff is recommending this approval to purchase security platform equipment and services from Siemens Industry on an as needed basis throughout the year.
