Memo

Thru: Tom Kisela, Interim City Manager
From: Jeffery S. Adams, Interim Community Development DirectorsA Date: November 15, 2022
Re: Agenda Item 8.4, Neighborhood Preservation Overlay Zone Staff recommends a revision to Ordinance No. 10-22, for the creation of the Neighborhood Preservation Overlay Zone should the City Council wish to adopt the First Reading. Presented Ordinance Section 17.28.080C.3. reads as follows:
"A minimum of 100 square feet of additional usable open space must be provided for each additional bedroom being proposed to the existing primary residence."
The below revision to the aforementioned section is recommended to establish a baseline from which the additional 100 square feet of open space is to be provided. Should the required open space already exist on a lot as a surplus, then the surplus may fulfill the requirement.

A minimum of 100 square feet of additional usable open space beyond that required by Orange Municipal Code Table 17.14.070 must be provided for each additional bedroom being proposed to the existing primary residence a Printed on recycled paper 4/01
