1. SUBJECT
Appropriation of $33,700 in designated donation funding received from the Orange Public Library Foundation.
2. SUMMARY
This $33,700 donation will be used to purchase technology and furniture to enhance and expand the Library’s public spaces.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. Accept into the City’sbudget a $33,700 donation from Orange Public Library Foundation, into revenue account number 100.2001.48390.19322, General Fund - Orange Public Library Foundation.
2. Authorize the appropriation of $33,700 into expenditure account number 100.2004.55131.19322, General Fund - Orange Public Library Foundation.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total appropriation for this donation are funded by the additional revenue received from the Orange Public Library Foundation.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The Orange Public Library Foundation is donating $33,700 to enhance and expand the Library’s public spaces. Funds were donated during the “RaiseYour Paddle”portion of the Foundation’s2022 Library Legacy Awards & Celebration to activate library spaces. The donation will purchase technology for the study rooms at the Orange Public Library & History Center, El Modena, and Taft Branch Libraries that will support group project planning as well as career advancement goals. Funds will also purchase furniture and supplies to improve public programming spaces, such as the courtyard at El Modena Branch Library and the Salter Room at Taft Branch Library.
The Orange Public Library will publicize the Foundation’scontributions in a variety of ways, including plaques where appropriate, and credit for support on the Library’s website, flyers, and calendars.
