RE: Public Property use for Special Event
City Staff,
Chapman Crafted is requesting the closure and use of a public parking lot and paseo in conjunction with a special event. Chapman Crafted and VW Trends Magazine is planning the inaugural Hot Dubs & Cold Suds Car Show for June 10, 2023 from 10am to 3pm. We are excited to partner with local charities, the Orange Senior Center & the Community Foundation of Orange, to gain charitable donations off of the event.
Chapman Crafted is located at 123 N Cypress Street in Old Towne Orange, and the parking lot and paseo is located on the northwest corner of W Chapman Ave & N Lemon Street. We plan to extend our normal operations to allow attendees access to the paseo and parking lot via our main entrance off of N Cypress Street, and will be placing screened fencing around the parking lot and part of the paseo. We will be launching a special beer and coffee in conjunction with the show, and will pour our locally made beer (21 & over) and coffee to attendees of the show. All alcoholic beverages will be poured in distinctive plastic cups to attendees wearing wristbands that have been ID checked upon entrance.
The inaugural Hot Dubs & Cold Suds Car Show expects around 50 VW’s, and to draw around 500 people over the course of the event. We will have ample staff and volunteers to control the flow of the attendees entering and exiting the premises, and to maintain a comfortable capacity with in the entire area.
Thank you for your consideration of this use.
Sincerely yours,
Wil Dee
