This program ensures the City’sroadway markings are continually refurbished before the end of their serviceable life; allows staff to make roadway striping adjustments in response to changes in traffic patterns; and facilitates quick responses to resident requests that involve changes in pavement markings.
The current contract with BC Striping was approved by City Council in 2019 and expired on June 30, 2023. This bid and later award process will continue to provide these services and ensure pavement City of Orange Printed on 7/6/2023Page 1 of 2

2023. This bid and later award process will continue to provide these services and ensure pavement markings are adequately maintained.
To reduce administrative efforts of annual contract amendments, staff proposes to bid the project for a three-year term, with one optional two-year extension, contingent upon contractor performance.
The initial bid requests an estimated annual cost to remain fixed during the entire term.
Renegotiation of the amount and unit prices may be initiated by the City or the contractor if and when the contract is extended.
An appropriation of $140,000 has been budgeted in FY 2023-24 for these services. Any required increase will be requested during the budget development process for each respective fiscal year.
Once bids are opened and actual costs are known, staff will return to the City Council with a recommendation to award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder within the City’s approved funding amount.
Specifications and cost estimates are available for review in the Public Works Department.
