1. SUBJECT
First Amendment to Professional Services Agreement with Cornerstone Communications & Public Relations, Inc. for communications and public relations services.
2. SUMMARY
The proposed first amendment would provide additional funding for communications and public relations services.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve the first amendment to agreement with Cornerstone Communications & Public Relations, Inc. in the amount of $75,000 for communications and public relations services; and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total expenditure for this agreement is $75,000 and will be funded through the General Fund.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
Providing timely, accurate, and relevant information to the public is an important City function that is accomplished through the City website, social media, print publications, and working with local news outlets. City communications efforts are overseen by the City Manager’s Office, with input and assistance from the various City departments.
In February, the City began contracting with Cornerstone Communications & Public Relations, Inc. (Cornerstone) to provide a variety of communications and public relations services. This agreement allows the City to augment existing staff resources with Cornerstone’s team that can provide specialized services including media relations, social media consultation, video production, crisis communications, and photography. Cornerstone’sfirst project was to relaunch the City’smain social media accounts to increase community engagement through social media.
The proposed first amendment will add additional funding to the agreement with Cornerstone so that they can continue to provide communications and public relations services on an as-needed basis City of Orange Printed on 8/2/2023Page 1 of 2

they can continue to provide communications and public relations services on an as-needed basis through the rest of this fiscal year. The funding for this amendment comes from funds included in the Fiscal Year 2024 budget.
