In accordance with most current labor contracts between the City and its employee organizations, City employees are entitled to one-half day (4.5 hours) of paid holiday if Christmas Eve (December 24) falls on a Monday through Thursday, one (1) day of paid holiday for Christmas Day, and one (1) day of paid holiday for New Year’s Day.

If approved by the City Council, this action will allow the City to close most of its services for the following holiday periods:
2023: Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. through Monday, January 1, 2024. The City will return to full service on Tuesday, January 2, 2024; and City of Orange Printed on 8/17/2023Page 1 of 2
