The project will rehabilitate a total of three streets in the Lomita Neighborhood Tract which consists of Lomita Avenue from Glassell Street to Grand Street, Orange Street from Collins Avenue to Lomita Avenue, and Grand Street from Collins Avenue to Mayfair Avenue. The work to be done in general includes asphalt concrete overlay with localized areas of pavement reconstruction. The rehabilitated pavement will have a longer service life and will provide a safe and smooth ride for the public. In addition, the existing curb will be removed and replaced with new curb and gutter on Orange Street, west side of Grand Street and north side of Lomita Avenue. Other aspects of the project include replacement of damaged sidewalk, curb and gutter, adjustment of utility covers to grade, pavement striping, and replacement of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramps within the project limits to conform to the federal guidelines.

This project will follow the City’sannual sewer project where the existing structurally deficient 6” sewer main will be replaced with an 8” sewer main. The construction is expected to begin in November 2023 and will be completed within 60 calendar days.
