Granting of easement to Southern California Edison at Katella Terrace Apartments.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve Grant of Easement to Southern California Edison at Katella Terrace Apartments located at 1249 E. Katella Avenue; and authorize the Mayor to execute on behalf of the City.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
On February 8, 2022, the City Council approved an agreement with OSH Katella Terrace (hereafter, “OSH”)regarding a land donation at 1249 E. Katella Avenue. This land is designated for the development of the Katella Terrace Apartments, a senior affordable housing project.
As part of the project’sadvancement, an easement will be granted to Southern California Edison (SCE). This easement, located at the southwest corner of the parcel, will allow SCE to operate and maintain electrical and communications systems, enabling OSH to commence the development. This new easement will replace SCE's existing easement on the parcel, which the development will build over. SCE has formally communicated to the City that SCE intends to abandon that existing easement as it will no longer be needed, thereby clearing the way for OSH to commence their project.
