1. SUBJECT
Approval of plans and specifications for Mechanical Services and Preventative Maintenance for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Equipment at Various City Buildings; and authorization to advertise for bids.
2. SUMMARY
Plans and specifications have been completed and the project is ready to advertise for bids. The total estimated annual cost is $180,000.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve plans and specifications and authorize advertising for Bid No. 23-24.22.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The contract with the current service provider will expire on June 30, 2024. This project consists of providing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to maintain the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment in good operating condition. The HVAC units are at the Civic Center, Community Services Building, all eight Fire Stations, the Main Library and two Branch Libraries, all parks buildings, the Santa Fe Depot Building, Police Headquarters, and the Senior Center. The tasks may include but are not limited to routine preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
This authorization to advertise will allow the city to solicit bids for the necessary work without a lapse in service. The bid solicitation will be for a three-year contract with two one-year extension options.
This will allow the city to secure the HVAC services and repairs through Fiscal Year 2028.
