Under the LCRR, all community water systems are required to conduct a comprehensive inventory of both publicly owned and privately owned service line materials regardless of ownership. Inventories (SLIs) to California Department of Drinking Water (DDW) and making the report available to the public by October 16, 2024.

Based on the successful history of collaboration and cost sharing programs, Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) and local water utilities have jointly prepared and agreed to a Scope of Work to solicit proposals. Five consultants responded with proposals, and Hazen and Sawyer was selected to prepare SLIs for the participating agencies. The joint effort helps to increase cost effectiveness for participating agencies through economies of scale and reduces preparation time.

Through this program, Hazen and Sawyer will help the City with reviewing collected data, developing a SLI database, managing customer communications, implementing private property owner self- verification, and submitting SLI to DDW. The total cost for the City to participate in this agreement is $111,765.
