Cyberattacks have evolved from simple viruses and basic malware to highly sophisticated methods in recent years. Windows Hello is a biometric authentication technology developed by Microsoft that enhances security by allowing users to authenticate using facial recognition eliminating the need for traditional passwords. Several hundred city employees are already using this technology and the purchase of these monitors will enable this technology citywide. This is a counter measure to increase the City’scyber security posture. This purchase also provides citywide ability for staff to use web meeting tools (e.g. Teams, Zoom, etc.) with benefits of improved communication, cost savings City of Orange Printed on 5/23/2024Page 1 of 2
