1. SUBJECT
Authorize increase of purchase order for medical supplies from Life-Assist, Inc. in the amount of $35,000 funded through the EMT Transport fund.
2. SUMMARY
The rise in emergency medical service calls and escalating costs for goods and services have led to a required $35,000 increase to meet medical supply obligations for Fiscal Year 2023-2024.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Authorize the increase of $35,000 from the EMT Transport fund to the Life Life-Assist, Inc. purchase order for medical supplies
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The expense for the Life-Assist, Inc. purchase order increase is $35,000 and will be funded through EMT Transport fund (125):

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
Life-Assist, Inc. provides medical supplies for the Fire Department. The original purchase order created for Life-Assist, Inc. for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 (FY24) was $286,000. Due to an increase in call volume, along with increased costs for goods and services, the expenditures have exceeded this amount and an increase is necessary to fulfill our obligations for FY24.
