1. SUBJECT
Authorize purchase of Police Department uniforms from Galls, LLC.
2. SUMMARY
Purchase of uniforms from Galls, LLC through a Cooperative Purchasing Agreement, Master Agreement No. 106-497426. This purchase allows for the continuation of uniforms for Fiscal Year 2024-2025.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve the purchase of Police Department uniforms from Galls, LLC for $130,000.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The expense for this purchase is $130,000 and will be funded upon adoption of the proposed Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget through General Fund (100).

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
Police employees are required to wear a uniform to be identified as a law enforcement authority in society and a source of assistance in an emergency, crisis, or other time of need. New officers and office staff are initially issued two types of uniforms for wear. Worn or damaged items are replaced on an annual or as-needed basis. Specialized units such as Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Motor Officers, K9, and Bicycle Patrol are issued different uniforms specific to their unit.
The Orange Police Department currently purchase uniforms and duty gear from Galls, LLC (Galls).
Galls is headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky and currently maintains a retail location within proximity to the Orange Police Department which minimizes personnel driving time for pickups and scheduled fittings. As the largest distributor of uniforms and equipment to public safety personnel, Galls offers an extensive selection of products and brands, competitive pricing, convenient online ordering, and alteration services to meet the department’sneeds.
