1. SUBJECT
Appropriation of $23,450 in designated donation funding received from the Orange Public Library Foundation.
2. SUMMARY
Donation funds from the Orange Public Library Foundation will be used to enhance and expand the Library’s resources.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. Accept into the City’sGeneral Fund (100) revenue budget $23,450 in donation funds from the Orange Public Library Foundation to:
100-2101-48101-262102-48 Donations
2. Authorize the appropriation of $23,450 to General Fund (100):
100-2102-80101-262102-20 Furniture, Machinery & Equipment
4. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no direct fiscal impact to the City. The additional revenue received from the Orange Public Library Foundation will fund the expense for these services.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The Orange Public Library Foundation (Foundation) is donating $23,450 toward the purchase of computers and laptops for the public at the Orange Public Library & History Center as well as the El Modena and Taft Branch Libraries. A portion of these funds was donated during the “Raise Your Paddle”portion of the Foundation’s2025 Mystery Author Panel & Luncheon fundraiser to support the Library’stechnology needs. The Orange Public Library will publicize the Foundation’scontribution in a variety of ways, including signage as well as giving credit for the support on the Library’swebsite and social media. The Foundation will make a check presentation to the Library at the January 27, 2026, City Council meeting.
