Honoring
Strikers FC Orange – Boys U10 Division
and
Coach Jesse Ortiz
2026 Cal South State Cup Champions
WHEREAS, Strikers FC Orange, a competitive club program of the Orange Junior Soccer Club, has a long history of empowering young athletes to become confident in themselves to perform at their best while representing their team, Soccer Club, and City in a positive manner; and WHEREAS, under the expert tutelage of Coach Jesse Ortiz, the Boys U10 division of the Strikers FC Orange was the first of this club program to win the Cal South State Cup Championship and bring home the 2026 title; and
WHEREAS, for the past two years, the team motto has been “On Your Toes.” It represents readiness, focus, discipline, and a commitment to continuous improvement in everything the team does. In Coach Ortiz’s own words, “Success on the field means very little if they are not growing as students and as young men off the field;” and
WHEREAS, over the past couple of years, this strong team has played together and won many tournament championships, endured long practice sessions and grueling travel miles, injuries, and fatigue to become the 2026 Cal South State Cup Champions. Through their hard work, determination, blood, sweat, and tears, these young players who were greatly influenced by their coaches’ teachings have shown tremendous team spirit and sportsmanship both on and off the field; and WHEREAS, Orange is proud to be home to Strikers FC Orange and is proud of Coach Ortiz’s Boys U10 team’s outstanding competition season.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Dan Slater, Mayor of the City of Orange, on behalf of the entire City Council, do hereby congratulate our Strikers FC Orange Boys U10 team and Coach Ortiz on their outstanding competition season leading to a Championship win at the Cal South State Cup for the first time in this division's organization's history.
