Recognizing
Eva Perez on her 75th Birthday
WHEREAS, Eva Perez, a lifelong resident of Orange with deep family roots in the El Modena Barrio, celebrates her 75th birthday and many years of service to her community this year; and
WHEREAS, born and raised in Orange, Eva spent her career supporting local families through her work in behavioral health and community services, including jobs at the El Modena Family Resource Center and as a Program Supervisor with the Orange County Health Care Agency, where she focused on family advocacy, mental health and substance use treatment, and related community programs; and
WHEREAS, Eva has served the City of Orange through prior leadership on the Community Development Block Grant Committee and her current position on the Park Planning and Community Events Commission. As a Park Commissioner, she has supported Concerts in the Park, Mo vies in the Park, and efforts to improve and expand access to local parks and green spaces in the city; and
WHEREAS, following her retirement from the County of Orange, Eva returned to school and earned an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Santa Ana College in 2018, reflecting her passion for education and her commitment to serving as a role model for her family and community; and
WHEREAS, a proud mother, grandmother, and great -aunt, Eva is the beloved matriarch of her family, offering guidance, strength, and support across generations; and
WHEREAS, as a cancer survivor now three years in remission, she continues to demonstrate resilience, optimism, and dedication to those around her. Through decades of service and community engagement, Eva stands as an inspiring example of civic pride, perseverance, and generosity.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Daniel R. Slater, Mayor of the City of Orange , and the entire City Council, do hereby thank Eva for her lasting contributions to the Orange community, and congratulates her on a wonderful life, filled with friendship, love, and a beautiful family. Happy 75th birthday from the City of Orange.
