RESOLUTION NO. 11706
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ORANGE FOR THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF A LOADING ZONE ON
THE EAST SIDE OF LEMON STREET
ADJACENT TO THE FRONTAGE OF 233 N.
LEMON STREET (ACCESSOR PARCEL
NUMBER 039-162-21)
WHEREAS, a representative of the business at 233 N. Lemon Street requested the establishment of a loading zone on the east side of Lemon Street, adjacent to the Old Towne Mixed Use -24 frontage of 233 N Lemon Street to allow for the loading and unloading of passengers or materials; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned parcel does not have on-site parking, and the demand for nearby on-street parking in the subject area is high; and
WHEREAS, the east side of the 200 north block of Lemon Street supports residential and mixed use; and
WHEREAS, the west side of the 200 north block of Lemon Street supports Chapman University; and
WHEREAS, implementation of this request involves nominal staff time and minimal expenditures that have already been approved in the City’s operating budget; and
WHEREAS, at the June 10, 2026 , City Traffic Commission meeting, the c ommission unanimously approved the recommendation of the installation of a 35-foot-long loading zone in front of 233 N. Lemon Street and to forward the item to City Council for final approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Orange hereby approves of a loading zone on the east side of Lemon Street, adjacent to the adjacent to the Old Towne Mixed Use-24 frontage of 233 N Lemon Street (039-162-21).
