Mr. Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, City Council Members,
The proposed ordinance at face is aimed at reducing homelessness in the community, however as the city council has done in the past, continues to afford more rights to tenants than it does to landlords.

It is an undue burden to require landlords to track down previous tenants and have them sign a written waiver to rent the unit they were previously in. Once tenants move they sometimes no longer want to communicate with their previous landlords. If the previous tenant will not sign a written waiver or the landlord is unable to contact or locate the previous tenant how can they protect themselves from any fines or legal action if they do not have a written waiver on file.

I also would like the City Council to consider tabling a vote on this ordinance to a later date to allow for more public notification of this proposed ordinance and additional comments regarding this ordinance.

NOT ALL LANDLORDS IN OUR CITY ARE BAD!!!
The continued addition of even more and more ordinances affording more rights to tenants is very upsetting and will eventually make landlords remove properties from the rental market at the end of leases ultimately resulting in even less housing available!
Thank You.
