This project is essential to design and budget approximately 40% of some of the needed repairs to the seawalls.
This project was stalled by Public works in 2018 (by a former PW Director) after being totally permitted. We are grateful to the current Public Works director and the incredible staff that has worked hard to move this important project forward!

Agenda Item N.2 Public Project Agreement 32600126 with Jilk Heavy Construction, Inc. for Mandalay Bay Seawalls
Dear Mayor and Councilpersons,
Please approve this contract for maintenance and repair of the seawalls. This is a pilot project which will help guide our future work on the seawalls.
We have been working with the City to bring this project along for well over a decade. This phase of the project is essential to validate the concept design and potential cost of known needed repairs to preserve and extend the life of the seawalls.
This project is a milestone towards being able to develop community support for funding plans for the repair of the seawalls that are essential to the harbor and community as a whole.
I strongly endorse this agenda item and support approving the contract.
