AGENDA

CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT TRANSITION PROCESS
Get Involved in City Council District Transition Process The process in which the City will transition from at-large City Council elections to district-based City Council elections has begun.  The next phase of this process includes resident participation to draw district boundary maps. These maps, submitted by the residents of PG, will be first considered by the City Council at the February 5th City Council Meeting.  Residents are asked to join the efforts to create maps.

To assist residents with learning how to draw district boundary maps and answer any questions, the City will be holding a Community Workshop on January 8th at 6 pm in the City Council Chambers. This will not be a regular meeting of the City Council so residents will have ample time to ask any questions and to learn how to use the map tools to create their own maps.

You can get started drawing district boundary maps with our online tutorials tools found on the District Election Transition webpage
.

The mapping tools available to residents on the website include:

Dave’s Maps website
– when you visit the Dave’s Maps website you will find an online tutorial to help you start creating your own maps. This resource is also linked on the City Clerk’s District Election Transition webpage
.

Also available on the City Clerk’s District webpage is an option to create maps using the “ paper map
”. You can draw your own map with paper and pen using this map.  You need to add up the numbers yourself and try to hit the target of 2,521 people, with no more than a 252-person difference between the districts.
