REVIEW OF DRAINAGE PLANS
Mr. O’Connell:
This letter has been prepared to document that we have reviewed the civil drainage plans prepared for the construction of the new residence proposed for the site.
Plans Reviewed
The civil drainage plans were prepared by Roundhouse Industries, and are dated 9/21/21. These plans are identified as sheets C1.1, C2.1, and C3.1.
Plan Review Comments
We have reviewed the above-listed plans for their conformance with the geotechnical recommendations and parameters provided in our report (dated 1/17/21), and good geotechnical engineering practice. Based upon our review, we find that these plans appear to have been prepared in substantial conformance with the intents of the recommendations within our report and good geotechnical engineering practice. Therefore, these plans may be submitted to the building department without further review by our office.
The retaining back drains are not depicted on the plans, as they are to be addressed under a separate permit. We recommend that where possible that the back of wall drains be discharged through weep holes in the walls so that any collected waters are dispersed across the hillside for disposal. Drainage of these perforated collectors should not be connected to the detention system if feasible.
