The Council Chambers Renovation Project is estimated to cost $170,000. It is recommended that City Council authorize the City Manager to execute the various construction agreements for the tasks listed above.

In addition to helping to guide the renovation tasks, the Ad Hoc Committee will also oversee the initial artwork display in the Chamber following the renovation, as well as research a streamlined process for future art displays.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION:

Council may choose not to renovate the Council Chambers; however, the Chamber needs maintenance. Staff does not recommend this alternate action.

RELATION TO CITY COUNCIL GOALS AND WORK PLAN:

Approval of the construction contract is consistent with the following Council adopted Goal:
• Stewardship of City Infrastructure: includes repairing/replacing outdated city facilities such as playground equipment. Renovation of this facility will help update the Council Chambers.
