Agreement to terms with the Pacifica School District for rental space for Child Care services in the amount of $157,248 for the 2022-2023 school year.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Authorize the City Manager to sign the 2022-2023 contract with the Pacifica School District for rental space for Child Care services in the amount of $157,248, an amount which is included in the 2022-2023 budget.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The Child Care division has offered services to the local community for over 40 years, serving state and county subsidized and full-cost children. The recommended contract with the Pacifica School District will include 13 classrooms and portables at Cabrillo, Ocean Shore, Vallemar and Sunset Ridge schools.
The program serves between 340-400 Pacifica children, preschool through middle school, when fully enrolled. Currently over 46% of the enrolled children receive free or reduced subsidized care through state and county contracts.
The contract rental amounts represent a 5% increase, which is the first in over five years.
The rent per school site for July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023 will be:
Vallemar School $5,040/ month
Sunset Ridge School $3,024/ month
Cabrillo School $3,024/ month
Ocean Shore School $2,016/ month

FISCAL IMPACT:
The contract agreement will cost $157,248 for FY 2022-2023, an amount which is included in the 2022-2023 budget.
