AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF PACIFICA AND
UNIVERSAL BUILDING SERVICES (UBS) FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES This Amendment No. 1 (“Amendment”) is made and entered into this ____ day of October 2023 by and between the City of Pacifica, hereinafter called “City” and Universal Building Services and Supply Company, hereinafter called “Vendor”. Vendor and City may be collectively referred to as “Parties”.
WHEREAS, the Parties entered into a Vendor Agreement for Products and/or Services for Janitorial Services on February 27, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the City requires additional janitorial services from Vendor; and WHEREAS, the Parties desire to enter into this Amendment pursuant to Section 29 of the Agreement to specify the extra work necessary for weekend custodial service at the Pacifica Community Center and daily custodial service at the Jean E Brink Pool during public pool use times.
NOW THEREFORE, the Parties agree to the following amendments to the Agreement:
Section 1. Scope of Services
The Services described in Section 1 of the Agreement and Exhibit A of the Agreement will be amended to add the following custodial services:
Pacifica Community Center
Janitorial/Custodial services will be provided to the auditorium, kitchen, restrooms, and common use areas. The cost of those services will be $843 per month. The City of Pacifica has an agreement with Universal Building Services for city-wide janitorial services. Currently, the agreement does not cover weekends at the Pacifica Community Center. The community center hosts year-round Saturday and Sunday rentals. Our rental permits require the event holder to clean up the space post event. However, this does not include mopping, restroom sanitation, restocking, or other janitorial responsibilities. This amendment to the contract will ensure that each weekend rental, and our Monday morning senior services programs will arrive to a clean and sanitized facility.
Jean E. Brink Pool
Janitorial services shall be performed seven (7) days per week, Monday through Sunday after 9 p.m. at specific locations of said premises, as follows: Men’s & Women’s Pool Locker rooms. The cost of the services will be $2199 per month.
• Clean and shower walls and fixtures with tile shower disinfectant cleaner • Wipe down other tile walls as needed
• Clean toilets, urinals, sinks with disinfectant cleaner • Empty trash receptacles
• Restock dispensers (supplies invoiced separately)
• Clean mirrors

If invoices exceed this amount, invoices shall not be paid unless additional amounts have been approved in advance for supplying the product, performing the services or incurring the costs and expenses by CITY’s City Manager or City Council as made and carried in a resolution and a written contract amendment having been executed.
