Beautification Advisory Committee
Keep Pacifica Beautiful (KPB) Mission
To identify City-owned sites which, through sponsored
plantings and the creation of public art, will contribute to community interest and pride
►Along main thoroughfares
►In parks and around the beaches
Implemented by means of safe work plans, sustainable
gardening practices, and collaborative funding sources
Utilize environmentally friendly landscape practices that include:
► Mulch
► Use of drought-tolerant, low maintenance, and native
landscape materials
► Incorporate drip irrigation or water efficient systems in landscaped areas where possible
Adopted BAC Drought Policy in 2015: Sites are prepped in spring and summer for planting in autumn months to maximize the rainy season.
Keep Pacifica Beautiful (KPB) Practices
The Beautification Advisory Committee has worked with the Public Works office staff to communicate via social media about workday events so that Pacificans can join the volunteer crews. The social media connections are Connect With Pacifica, City of Pacifica’s Facebook page, Beautification Advisory Committee webpage, and NextDoor.
The Beautification Advisory Committee webpage contains information and application for Pacifica Beautification Awards for recognizing homeowners and businesses and information and application for public art or mural designs.
