Shop Pacifica Program Evaluation
Shop Pacifica Review
• EDC helped to launch the Shop Pacifica Campaign in December of 2021 with 12 participating businesses before handing the program off to the City and marketing consultant in mid-late 2022. • Today, 59 businesses participate across Pacifica
• This is an economic development program focused on keeping shopping local • Met with Yiftee rep and CEO to learn about the Shop Pacifica program, asked about upcoming features to Yiftee cards, explored Yiftee dashboard capabilities, discussed common comments from users and vendors, and learned about other cities’ best practices.
• Reviewed card purchase and redemption data to determine the effectiveness of the program
• Provided city staff with recommendations to improve the program to meet the City’s objectives for Shop Pacifica
2nd Annual "Blues and Brews" Concert Series
Blues and Brews 2024
Blues & Brews Concert Series
• Platform to achieve our strategic goals of (1) promoting local businesses to residents, (2) driving tourism to out-of-town visitors (3) providing assistance to local businesses & the City.
• Very successful – estimates of 2-3x larger than last year. • Highlighted (4) local restaurants/food vendors – all were very happy with revenue/sales. Some sold out of inventory completely.
• Highlighted (2) local businesses via sponsorships netting B&B $3k. • Promotes Palmetto as a downtown core. Anecdotal evidence indicates some local Palmetto businesses reported increased sales due to increased foot traffic. • Pacificans Care was a non-profit – very happy with recognition and sales. • Estimate that between roughly 600 and 1,000 people joined the event over the 4 hour period using survey / sales data.
Blues and Brews - Survey Highlights
Approximately 100 surveys were completed.
Takeaways -
• People who attended really enjoyed it.
• Learned that Pacifica residents and out-of-town visitors want more events in Pacifica.
• People who attended did so because they wanted to be a part of the community, enjoy live music, and want to support local businesses. • Most people heard about the event through our promotional advertising or word of mouth.
• Next year, double down on advertising and find ways to collaborate with nearby businesses to capitalize on foot traffic.

Prototyped Website Content
Purpose of Protype...
• Not to compete with existing resources...
• Effort to re-think and improve on what is already in existence. • Protype isn’t fully operational...we're in the ideation stage.
Prototype Website Content
Created a prototyped website dedicated to promoting local businesses in Pacifica to out-of-town visitors. This content features:
1. Self-Directed Tours – 12 unique tours that appeal to every visitor’s unique interests, including breweries, shopping, attractions, and the arts.
2. Events Calendar – A shared Google Calendar for any interested businesses looking to promote their events. This includes live music, organized events like Second Saturday, and workshops open to the public
Our future goal is to advertise the website at points of interest, local businesses, busy foot traffic points, hotels, and short-term rentals with QR codes for easy access to the website.
