A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PACIFICA
ACCEPTING A GRANT AWARD FROM THE PARTNERSHIP FOR THE
BAY’S FUTURE POLICY FUND AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the Partnership for the Bay’s Future (PBF) Policy Fund is a regional initiative aimed at advancing affordable housing production, preservation, and tenant protections, with a focus on racial equity and economic inclusion; and
WHEREAS, the City of Pacifica has been selected as a recipient of a two-year PBF Policy Fund grant to support the implementation of equitable housing initiatives outlined in the City’s adopted 2023-2031 Housing Element; and
WHEREAS, the grant will fund the placement of a full-time PBF Fellow within the Community Development Department for two years to facilitate zoning reforms, implement objective design standards, and develop community engagement strategies; and WHEREAS, the City will collaborate with the Pacifica Resource Center to conduct community engagement, and the Housing Endowment and Regional Trust of San Mateo County to provide technical assistance and policy expertise, ensuring effective implementation of the grant-funded initiatives; and
WHEREAS, the City’s participation in this program will advance key objectives related to increasing affordable housing, reducing displacement, and fostering equitable housing policies, benefiting low-income and underserved residents of Pacifica; and WHEREAS, acceptance of this grant aligns with the City Council’s goals of enhancing housing affordability and equity without requiring additional City funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pacifica that:
1. The City of Pacifica hereby accepts the Partnership for the Bay’s Future Policy Fund grant award.
2. The City Manager, or their designee, is authorized to execute all necessary documents, including the Memorandum of Understanding with the San Francisco Foundation and Coro Northern California, and to take any and all actions necessary to implement the grantfunded activities. • • • • •
