Sharp Park PDA Pedestrian Improvement Project – Bidding and Construction Support Services Dear Mr. Bautista,
This letter provides formal documentation of NCE’s discussions with the City of Pacifica (City) regarding a budget amendment for the Sharp Park PDA Pedestrian Improvement Project. This budget amendment was requested by the City for NCE to provide support services during the bidding and construction phase of this project.
Amended Project Understanding
The Sharp Park PDA Pedestrian Improvement Project includes curb ramp, driveway, sidewalk, and curb and gutter improvements, base repairs, tree removal, surface sealing work, and restriping for a total estimate construction budget of $2.4 million. Through this budget amendment, NCE will assist the City during the advertising period of this project as well as during construction to support the City with field visits, potential contractor questions, orsubmittal review.
Amended Scope of Work
The scope of work that requires to be amended would be as follows:
5B) Bidding and Construction Support Services
NCE will provide the City with assistance during the bidding and construction periodsfor the project. This will include providing assistance to the City in responding to questions received about the project design and preparation of any addenda to the PS&E. In addition, NCE also anticipates assisting the City with reviewing Contractor submittals and responding to Contractor requests for information (RFIs), field verification of localized repairs and curb ramp or driveway layouts, and assisting with the review of Contract Change Orders (CCO). This task does not provide any field inspection services and we understand that all construction inspection will be provided by the City. Our attached fee estimate showsthe staff hours allocated for office and field support during bidding and construction. If additional effort is required beyond these estimated staff hours, we will notify the City.
Deliverables: Prepare responses to questions received regarding project design, prepare bid addenda to PS&E, assist with review of Contractor submittals and RFIs, field review notes, or assist with the review of CCOs.
Fee Estimate:
To complete Bidding and Construction Support Services scope of work we are requesting our budget be amended by $9,700 for Task 5B as shown in the attached detailed fee estimate on a time and materials (T&M) basis.
