The Beautification Advisory Committee (BAC) is charged with the implementation of the Keep Pacifica Beautiful (KPB) program as part of the City of Pacifica’s Beautification Plan created by the Beautification Task Force and approved by the City Council in 2013. The goals and objectives include:
► Developing guidelines and policies for the implementation of the Keep Pacifica Beautiful program including signage,
project costs, etc.
Purpose and Objectives
► Locating sites in need of beautification.
► Engage and educate the public in how beautification strengthens our sense of community and pride.
► Work with civic groups and government agencies in rehabilitating public areas.
► Implement the annual Mayors' Beautification Awards Program for property and business owners who beautify their properties. ► Implement policies and guidelines for art projects on property consistent with the ‘Keep Pacifica Beautiful Through Public Art Program’
The Beautification Advisory Committee has successfully worked with the Public Works office staff to communicate via social media about workday events so that all Pacificans can join the volunteer crews. The social media connections are Connect With Pacifica, City of Pacifica’s Facebook page, Beautification Advisory Committee webpage, and NextDoor.
The Beautification Advisory Committee webpage contains information and application for Pacifica Beautification Awards for recognizing homeowners and businesses, information and application for Public Art or Mural designs, and volunteer liability forms for working on the BAC projects.
