APPENDIX B

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECTS
The Project consists of the following improvements to the Wastewater System, subject to the right of the City to modify this list as provided in Section 3.5:

Initial Project
The Projects consist of the design and construction of a wet weather flow equalization (EQ) basin and associated improvements, which is intended to mitigate sanitary sewer overflows ("SSOs") from the City’s wastewater collection system and reduce peak wet weather flows into the City's wastewater treatment plant.

The Projects consist of a 2.1 million gallon rectangular-shaped EQ basin to be located in the vicinity of the Linda Mar Pump Station in the City, two diversion structures to passively divert excess flows, and a small building to house electrical and other equipment, including a ventilation and odor control system and a potable water supplied cleaning system. In addition, 170 lineal feet (LF) of new gravity sewer conveyance pipelines and 575 LF of new force main sewer conveyance pipelines will be constructed to connect the EQ basin to existing sewer main lines that are part of the Wastewater System. The EQ basin will divert excess sanitary sewer flows for temporary storage in the basin during large storm events. Following the storm event, the basin contents will be pumped to the Linda Mar Pump Station and Calera Water Recycling Plant for processing. The pumps and pipes that are contemplated as part of the Projects are sized to empty the EQ basin in one to two days. All evaluations and reports required by the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") for construction of the Projects have been completed, and the appeal period has expired. On May 22, 2017, the City Council awarded a bid for the construction of the Projects to Sierra Mountain Construction, Inc., of Sonora, California. The Projects are currently anticipated to be completed by October 2018.
