BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:

At the Special and Regular Meeting of the City Council held on January 12, 2026, the City Council reviewed and updated assignments of City Council representatives and/or liasions to a variety of regional agencies, Joint Powers Authorities, boards, committees, commissions and community organizations. Included in those assignments were designations of Primary and/or Alternate City Council Liaisons to City advisory Committees and Commissions. Attachment A reflects the 2026 City Council Liaison and Committee Assignments made at the January 12, 2026 meeting.

Because the newly established Climate Action & Resilience Committee (CARC) was scheduled to hold its initial meeting on January 14, and at that meeting would determine its regular monthly meeting date / time, the Council deferred to designate a liaison to that committee until the regular meeting date was established. At its initial meeting on January 14, 2026, the Climate Action & Resilience Committee decided to hold their regular meetings once a month on the second Wednesdays of each month at 6:30 PM. Meetings will be held at the Community Development / Engineering Building at the Civic Center located at 1800 Francisco Blvd in the large conference room.

Council is asked to discuss and determine if they would like to assign a Primary and Alternate Council Liaison to the Climate Action & Resilience Committee.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.
