Minutes of the Special Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Palm Springs
CALL TO ORDER:
A Special Meeting of the Palm Springs City Council was called to order by Mayor Bernstein on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 9:06 a.m.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmembers Grace Elena Garner, Christy Holstege, Lisa Middleton, and Mayor Pro Tem Ron deHarte, and Mayor Jeffrey Bernstein.
Absent: None.
PUBLIC TESTIMONY: None.
1. INTERVIEW AND APPOINT APPLICANTS TO THE HISTORIC SITE PRESERVATION BOARD, MEASURE " J" OVERSIGHT COMMISSION AND PLANNING COMMISSION The City Council interviewed the applicants for the Historic Site Preservation Board, Measure “ J” Oversight Commission, and Planning Commission, and by consensus appointed the following members:
Appoint Katherine Maschka Hitchcock to the Historic Site Preservation Board for a term ending June30, 2027.
Appoint Clifford Hopkins, Janice Shon, and Larry Isaak to the Measure “J” Oversight Commission with terms ending June30, 2027.
Appoint JasonKravetz, asan alternate, to the Measure “J” Oversight Commission with a term ending June 30, 2026.
Reappoint Kathy Weremiuk, Lauri Aylaian, and Scott Miller to the Planning Commission with terms ending June30, 2027.
Appoint John Morrill to the Planning Commission with terms ending June30, 2027.

2. ACCEPTANCE OF RESIGNATIONS AND APPOINTMENTS TO VARIOUS BOARDS AND
COMMISSIONS
MOTION BY COUNCILMEMBER HOLSTEGE, SECOND BY MAYOR BERNSTEIN, CARRIED 5-0, to:
1. Accept the resignation of Erik Graham from the Sustainability Commission effective June 30, 2024.
2. Accept the resignation of SusanMeyer from the Parks & Recreation Commission effective immediately.
3. Reappoint Patrick Basile to the Administrative Appeals Board for a term ending June30, 2027.
4. Waive the requirementsof the Palm Springs Municipal Code 2.06.010(c) and reappoint Kevin Corcoran to the Airport Commission for a term ending June30, 2027.
5. Reappoint Keith Young to the Airport Commission for a term ending June30, 2027.
6. Reappoint Allison Jonesand David Norgard to the Library Board of Trusteesfor a term ending June30, 2027.
7. Reappoint Hugo Loyola to the Human Rights Commission for a term ending June30, 2027.
8. Reappoint Michael Finland and John Miraglia to the Parks & Recreation Commission for a term ending June 30, 2027.
9. Reappoint Gary Armstrong to the Public Arts Commission for a term ending June 30, 2027.
10. Reappoint Donald Barrett to the Sustainability Commission for a term ending June 30, 2027.
Appoint Erin Boyd to the Sustainability Commission for a term ending June 30, 2027.
11. Reappoint Gregory Roberts to the VillageFest Board for a term ending June 30, 2027.
