Hi Jasmine-
I hope you are having a wonderful week so far Everyone is excited about the excellent work you are already doing for the sustainability department. Your new leadership will make a huge, positive impact on Palm Springs and our active community.
I'm so sorry, but I think I need to resign from the commission effective today.
I'm not in Palm Springs for the three months of July, August and September each year so I don't really have the time required during these months to keep up with commission business such as reporting, advancing projects, bureaucratic requirements, etc..
I'd be happy to help with some of the projects the department is working on from outside the commission, IE: helping with preventing bird strikes (PR, materials, etc.), poison free Palm Springs, Active Transportation, etc., when I'm in town. It seems community members can also join sub- committees so maybe I'd be more useful in that more informal capacity.
Thank you for all the work you are doing to help advance sustainability in the Coachella Valley... it's vitally important for our quality of life and the future.
All my best,
Michael Frick

Re: Staff Report for Commission Meeting
Hi Fred,
The staff report is a meeting summary that is drafted and shared with the group. Detailed minutes are not required. The reports help to inform the general commission members about the topics being discussed at the subcommittee meetings. Michael can share more resources with the group to assist with procedures.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
All the very best,
Jasmine Fields

Hi Jasmine -
Can you explain what the staff reports are? I am curious if these would serve as a suitable substitute for meeting minutes.
I assume because we aren’t a commission there are no minutes to our meetings. That leads to some uncertainty regarding the outcomes of our discussions.
Once the staff reports are retrieved, could we have them distributed to our members to establish a record of our meetings? Does that make sense or is there another way for us to document our meetings?
Thank you for your assistance.
Fred

Hi Michael and Fred,
We are missing the staff reports for the ATC for April, May, and June. I set forth the deadline of Thursday July 16th for the staff reports for the April, May, June, and July ATC meetings to be submitted for us to attach to the July Sustainability Commission meeting agenda packet.

Hi Jasmine -
Can you give more detail on what staff report? I can look for it in my emails. I couldn’t find anything in my first look.
Agenda looks good to me.
Thanks,
Fred
