DATE: AUGUST 26, 2026 CONSENT CALENDAR
SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF RESIGNATIONS FROM VARIOUS BOARDS AND

COMMISSIONS
FROM: Scott C. Stiles, City Manager
BY: Brenda Pree, City Clerk
SUMMARY:

The City's boards and commissions play a critical role in the governance of the City and in the relationship between the City Council and the citizens of Palm Springs. Boards and commissions serve to assist in policy development, carry out administrative functions, offer a reservoir of experience and judgment, and enhance communication between the City and its constituents. To this end, it is the goal of the City Council that the process for recruiting board and commission members be as open as possible and designed to bring forward those persons best suited by interest, character, and experience to assist in these objectives, and who will, at the same time, represent the diverse interests in the community.

RECOMMENDATION:
1) Accept the resignations of Michael Frick and Bernard Rottner from the Sustainability Commission, effective immediately.
2) Accept the resignation of Jerry Ogburn from the Mount San Jacinto Winter Park Authority, effective immediately.
