1 Background
• In 2021 the City Council passed Ordinance 5529 and Resolution 9969 to establish term limits and consolidate all appointments to April of each year. • In 2023 the City Clerk's Office conducted the first consolidated recruitment for 16 vacancies and received 56 applications.
• The 2024 recruitment is ongoing and will close on March 17, 2024. 1 Open Positions 2024
• Two (2) positions on the Architectural Review Board
• Four (4) positions on the Historic Resources Board
• Two (2) positions on the Human Relations Commission
• Four (4) positions on the Public Art Commission
• One (1) position on the Planning and Transportation Commission • Three (3) positions on the Stormwater Management Oversight Committee • Two (2) positions on the Utilities Advisory Commission 1 Interview Options – For Discussion
• Allow Council Members a limited number of votes to select their preferred candidates to interview.
• Allow all or select applicants to record their initial interview via the City’s HireVue platform or other video interview platform.
• Appoint an Ad Hoc Committee to conduct interviews with recommendations being made to the full Council for appointment.
• Hold a series of special meetings over the next two months to interview all selected applicants prioritizing Boards that may have issues with obtaining a quorum for their next meetings.
