There’s an upcoming agenda item about approving $232,985 to a consultancy to study the health impacts of turf. No need to spend that money as the topic has been studied many times by many groups. A quick Google search will do the trick, and that is FREE. The money that Palo Alto would have paid Lloyd Consulting Group can instead be allocated for an apparatus for Station 4 so that the deficit there can be remedied.

Another source of income for the needed apparatus: the millions earmarked for widening sidewalks. I am pretty sure the majority of Palo Alto residents would agree that public safety is more important than an unnecessary turf study and wider sidewalks.

Please note especially his comment that it is first responders who pay the highest price when politicians don’t prioritize basic services. Most Palo Altans and Palo Alto businesses have no control over how the City spends our money. YOU DO. Please, spend wisely and do all that you can to keep us safe. Turf studies and wider sidewalks can wait.
