MILESTONE ADVANCING 2ND PALO ALTO
TRANSMISSION LINE
• Last week the CAISO Board unanimously approved advancing the $42–84M Ames–Palo Alto 115 kV project, a major milestone to add a second transmission line in Palo Alto.
• We rely on a single transmission corridor near the Pao Alto airport • A second line is critical for long-term reliability and safety and we appreciate the CAISO & PG&E commitment to advance this project quickly, noting their estimated delivery for this major infrastructure project is between 2030–2034 • Electric load has increased over 10% in the past year, driven by datacenters and electrification, with utility growth outpacing last year’s forecasts www.PaloAlto.gov/FireChiefRecruitment
