My name is Adam Schwartz and I live in University South. Please support the proposal for 37 homes at 414 California Avenue. We need more housing near retail and transportation. This project will promote sustainable lifestyles, support local businesses, and bring much needed housing options to our community.

My #1 issue in local policy is building more homes at all income levels.

This is personal for me, because my adult children and ailing mother want to live near me, and the housing shortage and very high cost are making it difficult to do this.

Thank you for your leadership to support homes for all in our community,

Adam Schwartz

Sincerely,

Dear City Council, Please do act quickly and responsibly - reading about RV dwellers and the ire of our Palo Alto community are...frankly, so..what's the word? Depressing? Scary? tRumpian? Many Folks here are willing to donate, tax deductible $$, to people all over the world -- many worthy causes -- and yet, people are sleeping in the alleyways in back of Cal Ave./, and in the Parking structure This message needs your attention

!
Dear Mayor Lauing and council members,
I believe the site is a great place for housing and is consistent with the city's goals for housing on or near Cal Ave.

I have read the staff report and realize there are a number of issues to work out with the applicant so we can move forward with housing on this great site--with the added benefit of dining and market that they plan.

I hope as you did with the 332 Forest site, right across from where I live, that you will encourage the applicant and staff to work through issues so we can add needed housing in this great area.

Stephen Levy

My name is Rachel Miller and I live in the Miranda Green neighborhood of Palo Alto.

Please support the proposal for 37 homes at 414 California Avenue. We need more housing near retail and transportation. This project will promote sustainable lifestyles, support local businesses, and bring much needed housing options to our community.

My husband and I just became empty nesters as we dropped our youngest off at college a couple weeks ago. We no longer need a big house within walking/biking distance of schools, but in a few years, after retirement, would like to downsize into a condo within walking distance of amenities like grocery stores, restaurants, a train station, etc. We would like to be able to stay in our community, especially since my mother lives nearby and needs my help.

Through my parents, I’ve seen firsthand how dangerous and isolating it can be for aging people to stay too long alone in homes with staircases, that require driving in order to go anywhere, that require maintenance that becomes too difficult to manage. We need to allow more housing for people at all stages of life, whether young singles, families, or retirees. If there are suitable places for people like my husband and I to downsize into, that frees up our large home for a growing young family, which will help sustain our excellent schools which are experiencing plummeting enrollment, as well as generate more property taxes that keep all city services funded.

Thank you for your leadership to support homes for all in our community, Rachel Miller
