Resident Comments:
• Bulb-Out Aesthetics: Overly Large and unappealing concrete • Parking Loss: In front of existing curb ramp
• Accessibility: Impact on ride-share pick-ups and drop-offs • Landscaping: Request for plant species that complement neighborhood aesthetics • Regulatory Concerns: Compliance with AB 413 restricting parking near the bulb-out 8 Curb Extension/Roadway Realignment: Southwood & East Crescent Revisions based on feedback:
• Reduced Curb Extension: Reduced footprint in the revised concept by five feet for wider lanes and improved maneuvering space
• Aesthetic Improvements: Aesthetically pleasing, drought-tolerant, low-height plants added • Restored Access: Converted curb ramp to a concrete path, allowing parking behind it • Increased Parking: Project increase on-street parking capacity (AB413 - 2023) • Crosswalk Realignment: Increased distance from the bulb-out to improve visibility and allow potential parking
Addressed concerns through design refinements which balance safety, accessibility, and compliance
