MEETING DATE: 9/15/22
DED 1076 - ANCHORANG DEPARTMENT: Administration

REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL
SUBJECT:

Proclamation commemorating the 212'h Anniversary of the Independence of Mexico RECOMMENDATION:

Council approves the Proclamation commemorating the 212th Anniversary of the Independence of Mexico
BACKGROUND:

On September 15th, Mexico celebrates the 212th Anniversary of its Independence with the traditional "Grito de Dolores", which reenacts the call that ignites the fight for their freedom and sovereignty.

The commemoration of Mexico's Independence is a way to strengthen bonds with their motherland, celebrate their roots, and teach their off-spring about their binational identity.

This year is even more special since they celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between the U.S. and Mexico.
