REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL
Subject: Approval of Reassignment of Mayoral and Council Member Assignments Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the reassignment of mayoral and council member assignments to various committees, boards, and liaison roles as outlined in the attached schedule.

Background
The City of Parlier assigns the Mayor and Council members to serve on various boards, committees, and liaison roles to ensure proper representation of the City and effective collaboration with regional and local organizations.

Periodic reassignment of these roles is necessary to:
• Reflect changes in Council member availability, expertise, and interests. • Provide equitable opportunities for participation in leadership roles. • Align assignments with current City priorities and needs.

At the January 7, 2025 meeting, the Council reviewed and discussed proposed changes to the current assignments.

Discussion
The proposed reassignment of roles was developed to balance the responsibilities among Council members and to ensure that each role is filled by a representative with the appropriate experience and availability.

Key considerations for the reassignments included:
• Council members' areas of expertise and past performance in similar roles. • Feedback from Council members on preferred assignments. • Alignment with City goals and regional priorities.

The reassignment schedule is provided in Attachment A, which outlines each role and the designated Council member. These roles include representation on regional boards, local advisory committees, and City-specific liaison duties.

Fiscal Impact
There is no direct fiscal impact associated with approving the reassignment of Council and Mayoral roles. Any associated travel or meeting-related expenses will be covered under the existing Council budget allocations.

Conclusion
Approving the reassignment of mayoral and council member assignments will ensure continued representation and effective governance on behalf of the City of Parlier. Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the proposed assignments as detailed in Attachment A.
